Erica's Meat Market is a small Mexican grocery store that offers a variety of meats, including marinated options, as well as other Mexican food supplies and homemade tortillas. The market also features a small restaurant area serving traditional dishes like carnitas and menudo. While it has a loyal customer base, reviews indicate mixed experiences regarding product quality and customer service.
A fine little Mexican meat market and bodega. Small but mighty. I speak a little Spanish, which I find helps. Their English is fine, but it seems a little friendlier from me to speak their language. Good selection of meats and other and sundry products. A little restaurant in the back with a lot of salsa's on the side. Cool. I will be back here. I bought some marinated Ahogado beef. Delicious. Friendly people here. Helpful.
EXPIRED FOOD 🚨 Not only is the owner (cashier/ older lady) always in a bad mood and has bad customer service but I have bought expired food from them more than once. I bought candy a couple months ago that was expired for over a year. It was more of a hassle going to the store to return $7.99 candy then it was to throw it away. However, today my husband went and bought some strawberry Jell-o and one package expired a year ago in 2023 and the other one expired two months ago. Ridiculous that they don’t keep track of their inventory to make sure their products aren’t expired. I will be going in and returning both products even though I will be made feel uncomfortable by them like it’s my fault.. ridiculous and disgusting. Horrible service!
My wife and I love this store. The marinated, chopped pork for tacos is the tastiest we have found in the area. Very friendly help there too.
Bought 2 pounds of Ranchera. Got it home put it in the fridge until I was ready to cook it.. it was EXPIRED and it stank so bad. Called but they were already closed. Came back the next morning and the owner got mad and accused me of leaving it out all night. How the hell did I leave it out all night if I cooked some if it the night I bought it and tried to call them because the smell was terrible? Been a regular here for years even when her husband was running the store. Usually I wouldn't leave a bad review but when you call me a liar it's time to call you out. Got my refund but goodbye never ever going there again. She only cares about money and not her customers. Close your store if this is how you are going to be. Trying to make me sick. NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Was searching for a piñata for my niece's birthday party, and this is the place to go. Hundreds of options, all high quality. Took the kids age 8-17 a good 5 minutes to break it open. Staff are polite and kind.
So today I went and purchased some Carne Asada meat to make some tacos and I get home start cooking it but the whole time smelling like a sour smell but not really think much of it so I make some tacos take a bite and I taste the sour smell I was smelling and I immediately threw everything away I always go there to buy meat but this just ruined it for me I won’t be buying me at from there anymore be careful cause they have no problem selling you bad meat!
The hot & fresh carnitas on the weekends slap! I married into a Mexican family, we've been back many many times. Also have tried fresh & ready stuff to make tamales & homemade tortillas.
I was very happy to see the market when I moved here from El Paso - I was pretty homesick and everything felt familiar. My main complaint is the way I've been treated over a 4 year period - like I was interrupting a private party. I've gone back because I believe in second (third? fourth?) chances but I'm finally over it. Good-bye Erica's forever.
Saturdays and Sundays you can find warm tortillas being prepared by hand, get here early before all the tortillas for the day have been sold. The toasting soft discs create an amazing and inviting aroma that fills the space and you're transported to abuela's casa. Buy a few lbs of carnitas, salsa amarillo, salsa verde and a container of cactus salsa, put these all together and take your taste buds to Shangri-la.
We were regulars and had always gotten a cold shoulder by an older lady in the back. Our last visit was incredibly bad as we were using the condiments and she just comes right up to our table and took them to another without a word to us. We learned later that she is the owner. We will never go back and have warned others as well.
Very nice staff. Great carnitas and tortillas. The deli counter has queso fresca, creme, queso Oaxaca, pico de gallo, and more. Also many spices and cooking equipment.
I was at a friends bbq and she had the seasoned pork and some onions (I hate onions) but she made me try them and OMG I’m in love. The meat is absolutely delicious. I’ve been back a few times now and will for sure be a regular. So authentic, so delicious.
I called twice asking if they had sausage without pork casings. A woman answered and said yes. I asked which type and she hung up on me. I called back, and she hung up on me again. Not sure why. I'm just looking for kosher/halal lamb, beef, or chicken sausage. I guess I won't be going there.
It's a good store they have really good menudo on weekends with hand made tortillas. The only bad thing I see they really need to upgrade their cash registers and Visa machines they are very slow to check their customers I had to wait 15 minutes in line to pay
I frequent Erica's often! I sometimes go there twice a week for FRESH Pico de Gallo Salsa. The Crema Amarilla (Yellow Sour cream) is hands down the smoothest, tastiest ever! Yummy tamales. Saturday and Sunday's they sell 'melt in your mouth' Pork Carnitas, Biria (Roast Beef in a tomato Stew) and meat only menudo. If you are looking for the American grocery store experience...then it's not going to happen at Erica's. It's an awesome AUTHENTIC MEXICAN grocery store. Beautiful meats ...seasoned chicken, pork, beef and in house made chorizo! The employees speak a some English, they are kind of shy, so don't assume they are being rude. They will try to help you. I've only had positive experiences at Erica's and I have easily been there 50 times.
Good for hard to find Latin -American food.
pro tip If you don't wanna go out of business, or get shutdown If you want to bring in customers and have them come back Clean your store and put prices on your things Oh, and get rid of the things that are expired , They will shut you down for that
Meat is high, The marinated chicken had a bunch of fat ,bone, and cartridge. I asked if they could cut it up and she said no. Some of the meat looked old. Customer service was fair to say the least.
Over charged my debit card by almost 20 dollars and declined refund...definitely will not be going back there again!!! Horrible experience there...NEVER AGAIN....forced to put 1star or would be a zero....update my bank refunded my money....too bad you lost a customer over 17$....oh well plenty of other shops just like this..sooo long Ericas market!!!
They serve great Tamales and they are not the little one's. There are a variety of them, call first to get fresh one's.
Fyi they sell menudo and birria on weekends only and freshly made tortillas.
I was excited to check this place out and was highly disappointed. The store looked dirty and the carne asada was sketchy! No thanks hard pass.
They have great carne asada and marinade chicken and they also have a great homemade salsa selections
Clean market. Always friendly people, great prices, fresh homemade tortillas, carnitas hot and fresh.
Felt very unwelcomed
Tons of pinatas to choose from. The pre marinated meets are delish
