Have had 2 hogs processed here. Nice choices for thick chops. Sausage seasoning right on point with several options. Best processing prices in Amarillo area. I called them all even a few out of town. In store varieties of meats are great. We had a hiccup with some hams to be cut up lost in the facility. After searching to no avail they made it right by offering me to shop in store for whatever I want. My tab was slightly higher than the value of my hams. And as always Beef Jerky is fantastic. I've been shopping here OVER 30 YEARS!! These folks even gave me plastic sausage bags to hang off my horse in an agriculture parade in Hereford. They are the best!

Bought 6 lbs of hot breakfast sausage on Tues, the 21st October. Fixed sausage gravy with it this morning. I'm very disappointed. I've eating Your sausage for several years and it was always good. This batch taste like just plain ground pork. I had to doctor it up to make it taste good. Jimmy Dean sausage taste better. And what's up with all the empty refrigerators? Looks like you are going out of business.

I ordered beef jerky, and only received half of my order. I have reached out to customer service multiple times with no response back. It has now been over 15 days. I will unfortunately have to contact BBB and my CC company at this point. I have been a customer for over ten years, and the decline in customer service has me looking elsewhere and no longer recommend Ede's Meats. The product I did receive was sadly drier than previous years also showing a decline in product. Hope to hear back from the company to resolve the issue, but it's not looking promising.

I always take my beef portions to Ede's for slicing into steaks. Their cuts are always precise and their customer service is excellent.

After being satisfied with a previous purchase, my brother ordered an assortment of steaks and beef jerky from Edes Custom Meats for my birthday this year. When I arrived home from work, my wife said that “some gross package is outside for you”. I immediately knew something was wrong at first glance due to the sheer amount of insects on the package. When I opened the package, I noticed that it had been leaking a substantial amount of blood from the steaks. The foam cooler inside the cardboard box was not sealed in any way. After taking off the lid, I was treated with a disgusting, hot, bug-covered mess of a package that needed to be thrown away immediately (see pictures). Nothing was salvageable and I was surprised to see that only 2 small Capri Sun-sized ice packs were being used to keep everything cold. Additionally, it was sent two day shipping and I’m not sure how they expected it to stay cold for that long in the middle of June. When my brother and I called customer service, we were expecting a quick resolution and some new steaks/beef jerky in a few days. When we spoke to Alex (who I assume is in the customer service department), he mentioned that the tracking information said it was delivered 2 days prior. It’s now been over 3 days since we made them aware of the issue. There have been multiple back and forth phone calls with zero attempt to make things right. The attitude has been borderline accusatory during the whole process with repeated attempts to try to get me to admit that I was aware of the package all along and left it to rot on my front steps. Additionally, trying to suggest that the blood covered beef jerky was fine since it was vacuum sealed is just plain wrong. Is it not expected that shipping errors happen during the course of business? It’s completely bizarre that the blame is being placed on the customer. Regardless of any error with the shipping company, it was not properly packaged and the damage has been done. There are plenty of other fine meat purveyors that know how to properly treat customers and deliver an amazing customer experience. Edes Custom Meats is not one of them.

Very nice employees, clean store, and the prices are good and good quality meat.

I started a Business about 1/4 mile north of Melvin Ede's location the same year he started in 1989. Melvin was always an honest, hard working Business Man and a Butcher by Trade. We would ship our Gift Baskets with his Steaks or Jerky and our Wine for Christmas. Since we closed our Business in 1992, I have continued to buy the Jerky to give to Friends, Family, and Business Associates across the Nation. Unfortunately, since Melvin sold the Business, the Customer Service has vanished and they have priced themselves out of the Market on their Jerky. I have told many that Edes has the best Jerky I have had and I am sorry to say I can no longer afford it or brag about it. It is a rotten shame that the new Owners are not carrying forward the reputation Melvin had built.

We regularly buy nice large fresh grass fed leg of lamb for 30 to 32 dollars. Went to check out what Ede's had and all they had were smaller ones frozen for $76, I was in shock!

Friendly and helpful staff. $15 for 25 lbs bones I get for my dogs. They are in hog heaven.

Hate that you don't get the meat from your own animal. We fed ours especially with our family's health in mind and took in some beautiful animals. We recieved bacon and hams that we knew were not from our well-fed hogs. Very disappointed. Will never use them again.

Edes is a one of a kind meat market suppling the Canyon-Amarillo area with an exceptional assortment of top quality meats processed in immaculate conditions with a minimum of additives or preservatives. After eating one of Edes steaks, it is challenging to find another steak of comprable value. I wait until my annual trip to Texas to enjoy a quality steak, although I hear that steaks can be shipped quite easily across the country. By the way, the Beek Jerky and seasoned bacon will knock your socks off as well! Enjoy this jewel in the Texas panhandle.

Changed since Melvin sold the facility. You will never get the meat from your animal so just know that going in. Absolutely horrible service. Non animal raisers will still like it because they just want a steak.

This isn't a butcher shop. It's a meat processing plant. Nothing fresh. Everything shrink wrapped and in freezers. Purchased the Brats - Johnsonville are better! Very disappointed.

Bought my dogs some heart and kidney to try out they love it. Will be going back to get more.

Fantastic butcher shop with some of the best beef jerky in the country. I no longer live in Amarillo but still stop in whenever I'm going through the area.
