Eat South is a Montgomery GEM! My son and I enjoyed our informative, yet fun visit to this extraordinary place! The staff and volunteers were so patient and great with us. This is a great place for those of all ages. I loved the variety of activities and experiences at this wonderful place.
Brought my in-laws to the farm to show them around. We got there as they were about to pick for potatoes. My in-laws had a blast said it reminded them of home (they were farmers back in India)
At EAT South it is not only fun, but it is educational, and it is a great experience for the whole family. You can learn about animals and gardening. People are friendly and happy to answer questions.
We took our kids to this farm as a field trip. They were great at teaching our kids about the importance of buying local and also explaining the growth process of produce and its nutritional value. Great experience!
Not near as interactive nor interesting as I had hoped. The staff's ability to handle small kids on a field trip was lacking and the program we were with had a community garden that was bigger and better suited for teaching. In addition, very difficult to find and parking was confusing at first.
Excellent gardening workshop here on a Saturday morning. Lots of good info -- not a lot for the kids to do during the discussion time, but plenty to explore (chicken coop, windmill, beehive, garden beds, greenhouse, dirt to dig...). Would love to go back for a more hands-on day.
I love this place with all of my heart. This farm is teaching about urban farming right in down town Montgomery. That have tons of plants and animals there which they grow to support the farm, as well as to teach classes of children that tour so often. They have plenty of volunteer opportunities that allows anyone to be able to get into urban farming. Just last weekend I attended their rain barrel workshop, where they and several other organizations educated us on the importance and benefits of harvesting rain water and even gave us free rain barrels for us to take home. I painted mine at the farm, and now it is sitting in my garage awaiting installation. Don't miss this gem in down town Montgomery. These people are passionare about what they are doing. Go check them out on a volunteer day! It is behind yhe Montgomery Advertiser.
Was very pleased with the way the personnel worked to setup, divide the large group and educate the children. Really enjoyed the experience with my granddaughter.
Great place, the kids got to see chickens and ducks and see how urban farming works. The farmer was super friendly.
This is always a great experience for the students and the fresh air in so good. The salad and the honey was also very good.
