Comal Pecan Farm is a working pecan farm that specializes in selling a variety of pecans and pecan-related products, including pecan butter and mini pecan pies. The farm emphasizes sustainable farming methods and offers an educational experience for visitors about Texas pecans. It is a family-operated business that has been in the community for generations, providing a friendly atmosphere and local products.
Comal Pecan Farm is not the easiest place to find off of IH35. First a drive on a busy FM Rd before turning on to a bumpy concrete entrance over potholes on High Creek Rd to reach an unpaved farmhouse clearing. The Store was smaller than imagined. Their main advertised pecan sellers were out of stock (Good sign). So bought two varieties which were available: Chotaw & Nacono. Both are excellent pecans. Certainly will consider Comal Pecan Farm to be a good future source for our pecan needs. Everyone I met were friendly and helpful.
Best pecan farm in Texas! I'm from Indiana and I always stop. Mark, the owner is a gem, and Pat the manager is great. Last time I was there, we discussed their sustainable farming methods and I always leave with bags of genuine Cheyenne pecans. Real working farm, rustic charm, worth a stop. Take the kids to a real farm and see how agriculture show be done.
What a cool place to visit. 5 generations of the family where they are still in operation. We bought the current crop variety called Kiowah, like the Indian tribe.
Enjoyed visiting with staff. Was able to get pecans and information about future needs.
I got a pack of Raw pecans as a gift 🎁 at work, and let me tell you they’re the most delicious pecans I have ever had. I will definitely be purchasing and recommending. 😌😌 And thank you to the sweet lady who gifted them to us 🫶🏻 …
We visited the Comal Pecan Farm booth at the New Braunfels Farmers Market two weeks ago and purchased a 1 lb bag of peeled Cheyenne Pecan halves. The pecans were so good that we came back for more. We have a 45 minute drive to get there but they’re worth every bit of the drive! Growing up my neighbor back home in Louisiana had Cheyenne pecan trees in his yard and my Mom made Pralines with the pecans. These brought back many memories and are really great buttery tasting fresh pecans. The Lady at the booth was very helpful and provided great customer service. We returned again to the New Braunfels Farmers Market this past Saturday morning but the Comal Pecan booth was not there. We will certainly return again and would definitely recommend you try their fresh pecans. You will not be disappointed.
Love the home grown pecans! Love that you can buy them in the shell or partially cracked to shell yourself or already shelled & ready to use for baking! They really do taste so much better than the store bought kinds. This pecan farm has been in operation for many years by Mark Friesenhahn. He is well known & respected by everyone in this community. He works hard to bring us the best pecans and he supports other locals & has a quaint store that has a variety of products to choose from. They are super friendly & will educate you on their pecans & let you choose your pecans & watch them bag up your picks. I would recommend everyone to visit & support our local business people! Can't wait to go back for more pecans.
Love this small business. They have a nice variety of in-shell pecans as well as pecan products. I learn more about Texas pecans each time we visit the farm. Everyone should stop out to experience what these local farmers are all about!
Such an enjoyable little place, amazingly friendly staff, and worth the short drive. They have fabulous pecans and pecan treats (flour, brittle, trail mix, caramel pecan popcorn, bourbon praline pecans, mini pies, butter, honey butter, praline and more). I'm partial to the pecan butter, pecan oil and, though I'm not big on pecan pie, the mini pecan pies are fabulous! On occasion you might catch a local farmer with beef, pork, and seasonal veggies.
The place is a working pecan farm. Awesome place to visit and buy fresh pecans and an assortment of pecan related products including coffees well organized and really an amazing place to visit with the grandchildren. A step back in time
