City Farm Chicago is an urban farm dedicated to sustainable agriculture and community education, operating since 1975. They grow a variety of organic vegetables and sell them primarily to local restaurants and through a farm stand, while also providing educational programs about healthy food systems. Ken Dunn, runs the farm and studied at University of Chicago. He's an environmentalist, educator and works with restaurants around the city collecting their compost as well as growing food for them. Some of the food, is redistributed to be given to those in need. He's a truly kind man and well educated and humble. Right now he is fundraising for his event space to educate people about sustainable living, shopping and growing locally in order to make us more able to handle the whims of nature and help be a gentler presence on the planet.
