We recently had the opportunity to visit Chestnut Hill Farm as a family, and it was an incredible experience. The visit was enlightening, particularly learning about their unique and sustainable farming practices. Meeting the pigs was a special moment, especially for the boys who were thoroughly engaged and delighted. Following our tour, we enjoyed a delightful lunch featuring gourmet sandwiches in a quaint garden adjacent to the barns. The beauty of the farm was matched by its family-friendly atmosphere, welcoming both children and leashed dogs, though we humorously noted that leashes are recommended only for the latter! Chestnut Hill Farm, located in Orchard Park, NY, is renowned for its high-quality pork products. The farm has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1834 and has been stewarded by various families over the years. The Myers family, who has lived on the farm for over 25 years, has worked with close family and friends to reinvigorate the agricultural heritage of this 95-acre farm. The farm is well-known for its sustainable and ethical practices. They raise their pigs in a forest environment, which is a form of silvopasture. This method is beneficial for both the animals and the environment. The pigs are allowed to roam freely in their natural habitat, resulting in healthier and happier animals. The meat produced is known for its rich flavor and tenderness. Chestnut Hill Farm's sustainable practices include supplementing the pigs' diet with non-GMO feed and native foods such as nuts, shrubs, grubs, leafy greens, kale, radish, and mustard. They practice water conservation, erosion control, and have a focus on maintaining biodiversity and carbon capture. The farm also places a strong emphasis on animal welfare, with frequent rotations of the animals to fresh areas of the forest and providing shelter as needed. Their commitment to sustainability extends to their business practices as well, ensuring that they remain commercially competitive while maintaining a focus on quality. They are Pork Quality Assurance® Plus Certified, demonstrating their commitment to the best farming practices and food safety. Over the years, the farm has expanded its offerings. In addition to pork, they now also raise pasture-raised, organically-fed chicken, and offer seasonal vegetables, flowers, eggs, and honey. Their products have gained a strong reputation in the community, and they have successfully partnered with local restaurants and markets.

Went here for Easter egg hunt. Parking was a complete disaster. There was no lot and had to park on the street. Then at noon had to switch sides or you could get a ticket. No signs so everyone parked on both sides of the road. A trooper showed up the help direct traffics and move people along it was so bad

Would like to take my dog to look at pigs but I'm not sure that's allowed.
