EXCELLENT TACOS! I moved to Greeley a bit over a year ago and found this shop. In addition to convenience store offerings as well as a butcher shop, they also make great tacos. And, best part? On Tuesday the tacos are only a buck each, which means I can get a good meal for less than3 dollars after tax. The staff has always been friendly and one of the kitchen staff now knows me, and when I walk in, he always knows what I'm going to order, 2 asada tacos on corn tortillas with green sauce. I think this will be one of my main places to go from now on. They also have other food that's pretty good as well..if you're hungry for tacos, this is a place I recommend. I'm retired US Navy and US Sailors know good chow when we get it.

I wish they were more welcoming, I go in and not a simple greeting. Especially the ones working the kitchen I try to order and look at the menu, and they don't even acknowledge my presence just ignores me.

Chicharrones were disgusting and expensive, very disappointed since there meat selection is usually very good and I usually get there Carne Seca. 7 dollars for four pieces of chicharron and I couldn't even eat them.

They were very kind to a non Spanish speaking old lady and, I thank them for that. I will return often. Great bean assortment, neat spices clean store .

I do not know what has happened with this butcher shop and their meats. I was in there on Friday, August 2, and I purchased four (4) pounds of their Molida de Res. It is absolutely disgusting and horrible! It is nothing but ground fat and it has the texture of rubber when you eat it. It even looks as if it has a lot of fat because there is very little red color in the meat and a lot of white (fat). The time before when we were in there, we talked with the owner and he informed us he was on his way to Wiggins to talk with another meat purveyor. He obviously decided to go with this different purveyor and again, the meat is disgusting! I guess he has decided to purchase a lower grade of meat and raise the price to make a huge profit. I also purchased four of their upgrade (higher priced) pork chops. They are nothing like the pork chops we purchased there before which were so tender that you could have cut them with a spoon, literally. These pork chops were tough as leather and they were very bloody. It even discolored the pork chops. Again, very disgusting! All I can say is Carniceria La Preferida should be ashamed of themselves. We do not live in Greeley and we would drive to the shop just to purchase the excellent meats. Unless we hear they have improved their grade of meat and pork, we will never be back. What a shame.

This seems like an early review, but Carneceria La Preferida could quickly become my favorite store of its type. The people are so friendly from meat side to check out. The meat has always been fresh, great quality, and now enjoying the chorizo for lunch. Plenty of basics, sauce, dried beans, fresh jalapeños, beverages, produce, etc and a big plus, whole wheat tortillas made locally. I hope business grows quickly as all the right features of a budding successful business are presented here.

I came to buy my meat here, and I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to make a delivery, but they didn't want to do it because it was already late. It's 8:20, 40 minutes until closing time. Last time I came here; I was a customer.

Just look at the kind of barbecue they sell here. I won't be back.
