What a lovely person Carmine is! I had a slight mishap and hit my head at a local venue. He opened a bag of ice and put together an ice pack and was an absolute sweetheart! Can't wait to buy chicken from him. Anybody that thoughtful and kind gets my business. Thx for going the extra mile. No wonder he's considered the best butcher in Sullivan!

Great people that take great pride in there work and only give you the best cuts of meat. I personally like to trim my own meat and they have no problem not trimming it if that's the case. The only place me and my family go for our meat needs

I have never been disappointed going to Carmines!! The folks are friendly and helpful, the quality of the meat is excellent, and the Sullivan county bacon is the best!! See you tomorrow after the gym.

There is never a long wait; it is very clean nowadays and there wasmt a stromg butchershop smell today. Due to Corona, however, shipments are scarce it seems. As a result, it is VERY pricey right now. The owner has many deals daily-and REASONABLE. So if he offers a free dozen eggs with a $30 bundle purchase; I skip the bundle, end up spending $30(or whatever), amd STILL get thst freebie. A nice mom & pop stop.

Carmine's meat marketis outstanding and great. He's got the best prices and deals and he excepts food stamps and is great for timing on his deals. If u don't go to Carmine's then ur paying way too much for ur meat and cold cuts.

the worst of the worst. Place smells bad... almost made me want to vomit... The meat under the counter glass looks like third or less grade...did not look appetizing at all. I ordered filet mignon for 2. Instead I got three or more pounds of meat that I did not ask for. Additionally I ordered veal shank to make Osso Bucco... I got a mish- mash of different cuts of meat and also in a quantity that I did not ordered... all the pieces were different sizes....How do you present something like that to guest for dinner. The place seems to have changed either in owner or workers. The place I knew - which was fantastic was run by whom I always called "Carmine". He is no longer there apparently...I dont believe he would tolerate what I experienced in that store. The staff.... whatever staff that is.... one butcher and a counter girl. The butcher himself was a very polite and pleasant person who addressed my complaints. But even though he was trying to explain that the veal shank cannot be guaranteed to come in even pieces, I know better...that is an absolute lie. When you order and specify veal shanks for "Osso Bucco", any trained butcher or anyone working in a butcher shop will know what you mean. These people had obviously no idea.The counter girl was horribly rude, rolling her eyes every time I tried to give some input on what I really wanted. I asked her why she had that attitude, and she denied it... telling me something stupid like "why would I have an attitude with you, I dont even know you", as if that has something to do with it.... she does not know that a bad attitude is not something that is depending on whether you know or not a person.... I was baffled. Apparently she has no knowledge of manners and seems to be one of those disrespectful low life individual with no idea of how retail is working. When I did not accept the veal shanks, she paced back and forth, look upset and angry, and she had already charged me for everything $97.00...She mumbled turning her back to me while walking back into the butcher area, "well, I cant take it back". Not even talking to me directly. So I took the shank that I had paid for, but I will NEVER be back in that store again. To spend $97.00 in one visit, not getting what I ordered and to top it all being impolite and rude to me, is just unacceptable by my standards, or any standard. I will no longer recommend this place to anyone who is in search of quality meat. and I miss "Carmine". And now, since I asked them to grind the filet mignon, I am wondering if it was not replaced by another meat grade since I could not see the meat...all that was done behind a window.... what a waste of my time and money.

Carmine's is the BEST IN SULLIVAN COUNTY... I couldn't think of any place else I'd rather shop for my meats... The service is bar none... The atmosphere welcoming... The owners & staff, no words have been created to describe them... So, I'll try using words that have, AMAZING, PERSONABLE, WELCOMING, PATIENT, KIND, AFFORDING, LOVELY, GIVING... Every piece if meat I brought home was 85% fat content, 5% grizzle and 10% meat. All of the cuts of steak were unrecognizable from any regular cut. The ground beef had nore filler then meat and when cooked left at least an inch of water in the pan. Chicken tasted raw even after boiling for much longer then 10 minutes and then baked. When the chicken was ground up it released all of the grease and fat into the bowl. Literally couldn't eat 90% of the meat. Calles in to complain and they said it was ny fault because I, "didn't freeze the meat right." Seriously? Will never go back.

Best meat in new york. Went in and got the boneless package and can feed my family of 4 for a week to a week and a half with safe meat unlike monticello walmart.

Like always just great meat and service... recommend everyone to get there meat and cold cuts. A++++ all the way.
