First trip with our 8 month old infant and we loved it! We had stayed once before, without kids, and found it even more pleasant this time because the staff were so helpful and understanding. Pack and play, baby diaper pail, and white noise …

I had the most incredible experience at Carmel Valley Ranch this past weekend for my son’s 13th birthday. From the moment we arrived, every single person went above and beyond to make our stay special. At check-in, Prachi was wonderful—so welcoming and helpful. Andy gave us a private tour to see the alpacas, which was such a unique and memorable experience for just the two of us. Dinner at Valley Kitchen was outstanding, and Giovanni absolutely made the night. His passion for food and knowledge of every detail was truly inspiring—he clearly loves what he does, and it shows. The valet team, especially Josh and a few others, were consistently kind and helpful, always greeting us with genuine smiles. Bailey, who helped sign my son up for the bee experience, was not only knowledgeable but also so friendly and engaging. Natalie, who guided my son and husband during archery, made the activity unforgettable with her encouragement and enthusiasm. Every moment of our stay felt thoughtful and personal. This was honestly one of the best resort experiences I’ve ever had, and I cannot wait to return or recommend Carmel Valley Ranch to family and friends. Thank you to everyone who made my son’s birthday so magical—it’s a trip we’ll never forget.

Our first visit. Can't wait to return. 3 day visit, in a Bluff room with great view from spacious patio across golf course and grounds. Impeccable grounds and facilities. Excellent service from every staff member we encountered. …

An absolutely amazing resort that truly has it all. The property is stunning, with its own vineyard and beautifully maintained gardens—perfect for photos and peaceful strolls. We even saw deer roaming in the mornings and evenings, which made the experience feel magical. The pool and jacuzzi overlook was breathtaking, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere. It has a kids pool or an adults only pool and jacuzzi side which is nice. Only about 10 minutes from downtown Carmel, the location makes it easy to explore the area while still enjoying the peace and beauty of the resort. The rooms were incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. I’ll definitely be returning—and next time, I plan to spend even more time enjoying everything the resort itself has to offer.

We had the most wonderful weekend stay at Carmel Valley Ranch! I want to highlight how friendly and accommodating the staff were, and especially want to shout out Stephanie at the check in, for going above and beyond in getting us the room of our dreams! She was gracious, patient, and so kind. After checking in, there was a wine and cheese sampling in the lodge, and Isabelle was so educational not only about the cheese, but also about all the Ranch had to offer in terms of activities and things to check out throughout our stay. During our first night, we also made reservations at the restaurant, and were very happy with the quality of the food, as well as the service Ismael provided. As two humans who have spent years in the service industry, my partner and I only had great things to say for all the staff members and our overall experience this weekend. We will be back!

The resort is beautiful and the rooms are great. They are large, comfortable and the beds are amazing. The staff at the front desk, restaurant, pool and market are not overwhelmingly impressive. There’s no consistency in service and some …

My wife and I eloped in Big Sur and stayed at Carmel Valley Ranch for the week, and it was truly the best experience we've had staying anywhere. It was peaceful, quiet, clean, tranquil and set in the most beautiful location. But what stands out most is the level of service and care we received while staying there (shout out to Mia, Salvador, Jose and Tony who, among others, made our trip SO special). We can't recommend this place enough and are so eager to return for an anniversary trip!

Carmel Valley Ranch is an absolutely stunning place. The ranch is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and filled with charm – from the golf course and farm animals to the beehives and their own products like honey, milk, and cheese. It feels wholesome and unique, offering a wonderful connection to nature. The entire property is neat and spotless, and the rooms are thoughtfully designed with fireplaces and lovely balconies that make you want to stay for a long time. That said, I do feel the pricing is excessive. At around £700 per night, the rate seems unjustified, especially when the service doesn’t quite match the luxury level. The staff, while present in abundance, often felt more overwhelming than welcoming, and I missed the simple warmth of a genuine smile from the concierge or valet team. At times, I felt uncomfortable in small spaces crowded with staff. On top of that, breakfast prices – such as $10 for a yoghurt – feel closer to daylight robbery than premium hospitality. Overall, I’d give Carmel Valley Ranch 4 stars. It’s a beautiful and memorable property with plenty to enjoy, but for the price, I expected a higher level of service and a more sincere sense of hospitality.

We enjoyed our stay there. Recommend doing the scavenger hunt when you get there to get a good tour of the vineyard and garden . The people who worked there were so helpful. We especially enjoyed talking to Salvador at the corral. You can tell he loved working with the animals and great with kids. James also was great working the shuttle bus/golf carts. My one complaint is that I wish the kid pool was warmer! It was just too cold for us to fully enjoy. We hope to come back one day.

Our third family visit to CVR was the best so far. There are so many attractions nearby, it is a great destination. Yet the activities and dining options at the resort make it unnecessary to leave the property if you want to stay out of your car for 48 hours. And lunch with the donkeys is a great and unique experience.

My wife and I eloped in Big Sur and had the most incredible time staying at Carmel Valley Ranch during our stay! Every single staff member made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our time there special. Especially Jose, Mia, Salvadore and Tony - thank you! We did not expect to see so many animals roaming the property and it was one of our favorite parts. We were so sad to leave and are already looking forward to our next stay.

I recently got married at CVR and had approx. 140 guests. Although we were spending well over 100k on the wedding, they did seem to nickel and dime us at times. However, aside from the check-in process (they were changing over systems the …

We had a great stay, and wish we had one more day! It was nice to be about half way between the sea and the village. Property was beautiful. We brought our two golden retrievers and they had beds and bowls for them in the room. My only complaint, is that there wasn’t anywhere to get drinks or snacks later in the evening.

This is a good hotel, but nowhere near a Hyatt category 8, I would rate it a category 6. This is not a traditional hotel, but more like a bunch of townhome buildings which is actually kind of nice. The room we had was quite big with a front sitting room and a full dining room table and a full bedroom. The property is large, but it’s not exclusive to just this hotel. For example, there are other residential buildings and people who share the clubhouse and the golf course. I would not consider this a destination hotel simply for vacation, but rather a place one would go to for a wedding or an event. They do have a lot of kids activities here. The grounds are beautiful, but how much time do you really want to spend walking through Vineyards and herbal gardens? The pool and the hot tub at the lodge are certainly the highlight. Very nice that it’s open 24 hours. The food is good, but nothing special. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, but don’t come expecting to be blown away because it does not compare with other Hyatt category 8 hotels. As long as you know and understand that this will be an enjoyable stay. The staff works hard and is really great.

The views were breathtaking, and having a bathtub outside felt like a dream 🛁 soaking under the stars was pure magic. The room service was perfect, honestly 10/10… Such a romantic and unforgettable stay, they have so many activities and hike that you can schedule! Everything so top!

Gorgeous property, spread over many acres. Lots of things to do. Shout out to Prachi, in reception. She welcomed us with exceptional service and it continued throughout our stay. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. And once you get your bearings it is easy to navigate. Main lodge is gorgeous. Great food options. I Recommend renting a car. It is about 20 minutes from Carmel, Carmel Valley and many great vineyards.

What a unique experience! Pictures do no justice to the beauty we experienced golfing at this resort. When we were checking out James made sure we quickly viewed the farm just around check out time. The hot tub view is unforgettable, we’ll be back!

We celebrated our 55th anniversary here. When we were younger our anniversary trips were to Europe. Now, staying in the United States is a better option. Our suite was awesome. Shower was one of the best ever. Dinner was special. Best of all the staff made us feel like we were part of their families.

Once great resort, has since lost the plot. They opened the family pool up as a swim club, making it unbearably crowded. Rooms are feeling a bit dusty. No longer worth the pricing and certainly not a Category 8.
