Calhoun's Custom Meats

Very pleased with the selections, this was my first visit, everything I have eaten so far has been very good. I will be going back. Service was great. Not the cheapest, but not ridiculously high either, the personal service and quality offset the slightly higher cost. Knowing it is local meats, makes it even better. I recommend checking them out.

Awesome: Madisonville (Hopkins County, KY) now has an actual butcher shop! Nice clean store, kind staff, great prices and selection on local beef and pork! They do have other meats as well. If you come to compare prices be sure to note that this meat is of a much higher grade that the conveyor belt meat from the grocery stores. The prices are not dirt cheap but you get what you pay for and that is quality. I don't know about you but I am fearful to buy meats that may be recalled tomorrow from the chain stores. I can't tell you how many times the meat from a grocery store goes bad quick even within 24 hours, sometimes the meat may look good in the store but when you get it home it is discolored on the bottom or throughout. I love knowing that the meat at Calhoun's is truly local and fresh! They will be a new staple in our community.

I have been living here for almost 3 years found this place and bought two ribeye steaks. This place is on point the meat. The texture was fantabulous. I give this place five stars. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for quality meats, outstanding.

Guess smacking a 10% or 15% off sticker on expired products is okay. Could smell the spoiled meat when we walked in. So disappointing. Careful of their canned stuff too. Saw lots of 3 month plus expired food.

Wonderful service, friendly and very helpful! Not only that, but they make you feel very welcome, and you get service immediately with a smile! The steaks and meats are prime cuts at very fair market prices just slightly over grocery store prices but definitely a cut above the rest with other selections of great products and a generous variety of great sauces, including local honey! Great experience, I have already been back a couple of times! It's definitely a hidden gem!!! Oh, and I thought it worth mentioning. They have a sign in the window that says they do take EBT, which can be a great resource.

Fresh meat. Frozen items ranging from meat to seafood to veggies. All has been great quality. Wonderful customer service!

Best local butcher shop. This is the only place I will buy meat from. They have specials every Thursday- Saturday and offer a rewards program. All the meat we've bought has always been so fresh and is worth paying just a little more for it when compared to a chain store.

Came in and bought a large amount of meat and pork and I was very satisfied with the prices and selection they had, you pay more than the grocery store but you're getting high quality meat and it's fresh so it's well worth the extra money!! Thanks ya'll 😊 …

I'm updating this after a 5 star review. I have been a great customer. Today while making an order the server takes someone else's order after she was already waiting on me. I told her I wanted New York Strip steaks and while showing them to me she sold the steaks I wanted to the other guy. Prices are high and the service is hit and miss. Back to Kroger for me.

Calhoun's Custom Meats has great quality meat, great prices, and a wonderful friendly staff! Most of their meat is local which means it tastes better & it doesn't have all those extra additives like the grocery stores. Y'all be sure & check them out!

We really love their meat selection and service!!!! We drive up 3 hours to buy our meat. Their prices are very good too!!!!

Love this plays here and there i do go buy but when i do i get myself some sausage bread box and they are very delisious and the costomer service is perfect very friendly to everyone.
