Simply the best place around for quality meats! Their pork chops are the best I’ve ever had. They also stock awesome sauces and seasonings. Their products are so good that several of my friends who don’t even live in Essex County come to Caldwell Marketplace for their meats. My only complaint? They refuse to get me a Caldwell Marketplace shirt or hoodie, lol (I still want one).
We shop them every time we visit our son and his family in NJ. We wish there was a butcher of the quality by us in Florida. The pork chops are incredible.
The best butcher in the area by FAR. Great service, excellent selection, etc. Lots of fresh made dishes and things like stocks, bones, sauces, etc. Cant say enough about how awesome this place is.
You really cannot find a better butcher in Essex county, and I’d argue in NJ. You have a choice of various beef, poultry, pork, and fish. Pre-seasoned or fresh. My go to is their prime beef selections and the dry aged meats. They also have a fantastic deli section for lunches or catering, or even sides for your dinner. Could not recommend more.

I needed a fresh turkey for July 4th (no, not for a fireworks experiment!) and the Market came through - it came when I needed it, reasonable price, and it tasted great. I’ll be ordering my Thanksgiving turkey there.
I have been completely spoiled by all the products at Caldwell Marketplace. The meats, the prepated foods are fantastic but most importantly, they are old school service! Always so helpful and accommodating!
They truly are the best of the best! Professionalism at its best!... meat lovers heaven! You can taste and see good quality the min you walk in!
I'm not a meat eater but they have dog food and also some fresh produce. Small place but great service! The staff is helpful and work fast. The place is clean and very nicely out together. Btw also found marrow bones for bone broth which I typically do for me and the dog specially in the winter!! Only thing is pricey but I guess you should expect that from a local butcher with great products.
Best butcher shop around. Best place for steaks, burgers, chicken, and ribs. Their prepared food is amazing. Had them cook a turkey for me last year and it was awesome. Probably just about the best butcher shop outside of Lancaster, PA.
