Cal Poly Meats

They got steak! They got sausages! They got bacon! They got other stuff! Why wouldn’t you support this program if you’re a meat eater? I got some nice cuts for a little birthday celebration. I’ll go ahead and purchase the extra that the vegan / vegetarians who left the bad reviews don’t eat.

Funny how it's either 5 star or 1 star reviews from carnivores or vegans respectively. If you're a vegan, stay away, it's a butcher shop run by students, you won't like it. If you're a meat eater, check it out and support the student learning, the meat is high quality and the facility is top notch. I don't always eat meat (in fact I try to limit my intake at much as possible), but when I do, I support Cal Poly meats and students "learning by doing".

OMG I bought a tenderloin filet and a ribeye steak from Cal Poly Meats and they were so tender and delicious! The best beef we've had since we moved to CA. Its pricey but great for those special occasions and supporting our local college.

Shhhhh, don't tell anyone about the best Secret in San Luis Obispo. Cal Poly Meats is so good you can't believe it. Their beef ribs are the best I've ever barbecued. They're tri-tip is superb. Pork ribs T-Bones ribeyes you name it they've got it. It may be a little bit more expensive then what you would pay in a grocery store but the meat is so Superior you won't ever go back once you start buying your meat from Cal Poly Meats.

Well done. CP meats is exceptional and rival top tier butcher shops. We now stop by every time we are in town. You can't beat the freshness and quality. Try their rubs, jerkey and other products.

Only outlet for bones that I have found. I fear they will become too popular and I won't be able to keep ordering.

Just stopped by during the 4th of July week to see what it was all about. The cheeses are very fresh and taste so good, but the Apple Cinnamon Bacon is the BEST! I just cooked it today and wish I had purchased more. I got the last one on the shelf when we were there. I wish I would have purchased more!! Is there any way of ordering some to ship to Santa Clara??

Excellent quality, service and value, with a great selection of fresh and frozen steaks, roasts, ground meats, and poultry. The holiday ham, cinnamon-apple bacon, and beef jerky are family favorites! We appreciate and support humane and sustainable farming practices; kudos to the friendly and knowledgeable students and staff.

My husband came down with symptoms of foodborne illness but I did not. The only thing that we could figure out that he ate that I didn't was the chorizo that that was made at Cal Poly Meats. I have made five phone calls and also contacted them through their website. So far I've gotten one brief phone call back where someone left a message for me and then has failed to call me back further, even after I have left several additional messages. Every package says "100% Guaranteed" on it. But they NEVER pick up their phone and sometimes their phone number has a full mailbox on it, so one cannot even leave a message. They have a limited social media presence and they don't respond to inquiries. How is this a guarantee? I saved the product so it could be tested in case it was the cause. Don't know if it is or not, but I guess I'll never know. Completely irresponsible.

I am impressed by everything re Cal poly meats. I usually purchase the grass fed box. I was a vegan then vegetarian for many years . This was because I couldn't find a source I considered ethical. Cal poly solved that. Covers every single box on my list. THANK you Cal poly meats.

I was given a tour of the Cal Poly Meat production. I was devastated when I saw the rooms and tools used to kill the animals and drain their blood. I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm so sad that this kind of production was hidden from me all …

Steaks are the best anywhere - generously sized and super tasty. Interesting selection of other meats as well.
