Absolutely the best ice cream in Connecticut, the owners are amazing people and are vital part of the community. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone in all of New England
We recently visited this charming little farm and had an absolute blast! The farm is home to a diverse range of adorable animals. We loved interacting with them, feeding, and petting. The farm's ice cream shop serves up creamy treats in a variety of flavors. The farm store offers unique gifts, local produce, and artisanal goodies. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. It’s a wonderful destination for families, animal lovers, and anyone seeking a tranquil afternoon outing.
I absolutely love this place. Amazing ice cream. It was so hard to pick just one flavor! I recommend moose tracks and Mississippi mud pie. The staff were so nice and the ice cream was delicious. 6/5 stars if I could.
This place is 🤩AMAZING🤩 SOOO many underrated and unique ice cream flavors to choose from, you will be there for HOURS choosing which flavor to take because they are AMAZINGGGGGG Staff were soo nice and caring they even have a dog named Twist to see, So cute 🥰 Plssss try AMAZING PLACE
Best ice cream ever. I love this place.
Great place to go chill eat great icecream watch kids farm animals. Friendly Service.
no ice cream in there as of 5/8/25. even though it says open it is not, no ones there. don't fall for the trap people.
Great farm stand and store. Local ice cream with a number of flavors. They have a little pond with geese and ducks. They also used to have a little petting zoo with some goats and sheep but it was empty and overgrown so I'm not sure they are doing it anymore. Very picturesque. Also a great place to get pumpkins in the fall. Looks like they sell garden mulch as well.
Great place to bring your kids! Its a remote location where you don't have to worry about crowds, they have friendly animals and a beautiful pond with a ton of fish you can feed. Delish ice cream and beautiful flowers. Just a great place to go all around. My little one loves our trips to go see "donkey" :)
False advertising on their website. They advertise themselves as a petting zoo, ice cream and a garden center. When I arrived the petting zoo was all overgrown and there were no animals present. When I asked where the animals were they told me up in their barn. When I asked if we could go see the animals up in their barn I was told no and laughed at. They need to take it off the website if they are no longer a petting zoo. It was one of the reasons why we went. They also were all out of soft serve as the machine was broken. They had a statue cow on the property that used to be one of the ones that you squeeze the udders and the water comes out so that you can milk it. That was broken as well. Many things were broken or not working at this place. Then we went to the little garden shop. The website shows an adorable little garden shop with many things for sale but that was not the case when we went inside. There was hardly anything in the store. It was just almost like one big empty room. And the items they did have out were just thrown in a jumble in boxes and broken things but being sold still. Things looked second hand. Inside the greenhouse many of the plants looked dead and the few that were alive had weeds growing out of them. This place needs major fixing up. What happened? You need to fix your farm up or change your website because your website is not at all Accurate anymore and is not a reflection of what your website shows. The only thing It had going for them was there hard ice cream but you can get amazing ice cream at UConn dairy bar and go visit the animals at the same time on horse barn hill, so why go here?
I'd hardly consider this a petting zoo. Go to the Granval Scoop then come here and see for yourself. They haven't offered soft serve ice cream in years....the entire place is in disrepair and dilapidated. It's a farm, not a petting zoo.
A Local favorite!! Icecream is SLAMMIN. Kids LOVE the petting zoo. If you stand by the pond you can watch cranes looking for fish to eat. You can spot fish, frogs, and turtles as well. They have a great wagon ride in October, and kids were given free pumpkins! They have an inside craft spot which is nice too, and a beautiful rock garden with a small path! The photo opps here are endless, for each season. Dzens is down the road, but Burke Ridge Farms has a more kid friendly experience. Plus there icecream tastes more homemade, and prices are better. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the picnic benches need to be replaced!!! They will give you splinters...ouch!! But once that issue is fixed it's the PERFECT family spot!! PS. THE PETTING ZOO IS SEASONAL!!!!
Defenitly I always recommend to a few people. But there are always flaws. The animals are very amusing to kids and love it there for a little trip for the day. But I wouldn't recommend to farmers. They have little stock of vegitibles I would recommend somewhere else for farm foods. Very child Friendly.
Always loved this place, been going for years. Good ice cream here. Be sure to say hello to the goats, pigs and donkey.
I come here for mulch in bulk when I’m in the area. The staff are seriously the nicest people ever, and the mulch is cheap and great quality!
Best place to buy beef and pork products. Beef is very flavorful!
Love, love, love Burke Ridge! Gifford's ice cream, beautiful plants, fresh meats, hay rides and pumpkins in the fall, petting area... what's not to love!
Used to ride my dirt bike there as a kid around 2004 to get ice cream. The good ol days
Delicious ice cream, grest staff. Fun for the kiddies with pigs, goats and calves to see.
I would pick this place everyday of the week and twice on Sunday over Dzen’s. The people here are extremely friendly and the sunsets here are amazing.
