My first experience with buckaroo was terrible, I never would have been back here. Then we heard Elwood Yoder took over so we decided to give it another try & it was DEFINITELY worth it. Price wasn’t bad at all for a full hog, cuts were amazing & we were genuinely pleased with the friendly staff & the overall outcome. They even got us in last minute! Definitely give this place another shot if your first experience was bad before new management stepped in, it’s worth it!

EDIT: I was contacted by the new owner Elwood Yoder today and his suggested remedies were surprising. He offered to properly recut the order the previous owners messed up.(Mind blown) I live quite a distance from Camden, and with the heat, it's just not feasible to transport the meat but I'm amazed at the customer service offered to fix a mess he didn't even cause! I would give them another try. Thank you, Elwood, for your graciousness. Original Review: I was very disappointed overall with my experience with Buckaroo Meat. I purchased a whole hog and was shocked first by the processing fees but by the time I learned of the fees, it was too late. The other issues were they didn't trim Any fat making roasts and bacon inedible due to 90% fat. "Uncured" ham came out as full 27 pound hindquarters. How do I cook those!?! I asked for pork sausage and plain ground pork and now I'm learning they're mislabeled - I never know what's inside. They were nice but they've lost a customer forever.

Hands down worth every penny. Each cut is like you’re treating yourself at a high end restaurant, minus the price tag. Our cow was so good, we decided to get a hog as well, which also did not disappoint. The bacon was unlike anything I’ve ever had. We recommend Buckaroo to all of our family and friends. We will be back very shortly for another cow!

A year ago we used Buckaroo to process our steer. I thought our experience with ground beef was an isolated experience, so I held off on a negative review. However, I now personally know of 2 other individuals who have had the same experience with ground beef. To date, EVERY SINGLE 2 LB PKG of our ground beef has had pieces of BONE in it. I'm talking pieces that can crack a tooth! Our steer was a little over-finished because we could not find an available processor in time; however, that is no excuse for the amount of fat, as well as bone, in our ground beef. I would estimate it at 70%/30%. It is certainly not the high quality we usually obtain from our own farm-raised beef. We have raised our own beef for decades, so I am speaking from experience. We have had beef processed at Yoders in Paris and Livingston's in KY. Years ago we used processors in Clarksville and McEwen. We have NEVER had such poorly processed ground beef. We only selected the best roasts, porterhouse, t bones, sirloins, ribeyes, and round steaks and stew beef as our retail cuts. Our "round steaks" were minute steaks folded to fit the pkg., and the packages were random weights. We asked inadvance if they could cut round steaks, and they assured us they could. Our ground beef should have been BONELESS and LEANER. We will never use this processor again.

Made a deposit on Sept 1st. 2023 Was told two weeks for a half beef. This would have been my 4th one (returning customer). 3 weeks go by, nothing. I called, and they said that the rancher wanted to fatten the beef up, so I waited another 3 weeks, nothing again. Now it's Dec 7th and called them again. They now said the 1st of the year. That's 5 months on a waiting list, but they can sell their beef boxes. Where do they get the beef for those boxes. They can make more money by selling boxes of beef, and we who have made a deposit for half of beefs are put on the back burner. They just lost a returning customer. Do not do business with them. I will use Who Dat Processing from now on.
