Staying at Arrowhill Farm as a WWOOFer, I found a beautiful sanctuary to refresh and recenter my thoughts and goals before returning to my path of moving to a new location for a new job. Troy and Amy are fantastic hosts--the kind of people who have struck a great balance of being extremely hospitable but also welcoming people into their family and everyday routine seamlessly. I very much enjoyed caring for the vegetable garden and various animals (chickens, ducks, and goats--I even witnessed the birth of two kids during my stay!) all while taking in gorgeous Michigan woodland views and thought-provoking conversation with Troy. My accommodations were great, and the work hours were very fair. Overall, Arrowhill Farm is certainly a top-notch farm to have a WWOOF experience, and it is a wonderful place to visit (or stay at an Airbnb) to get a get a glimpse of life centered on enhancing community, both social and ecological.
We purchased 3 does from Arrowhill farm; this morning two kidded effortlessly, and they have great maternal instincts. The does have provided adept brush control skills by debarking and controlling the invasive autumn olive. Their sturdy hooves require minimal maintenance and they have not needed any deworming. Owners seeking reliable, low-maintenance livestock will find these goats from Arrowhill Farm invaluable additions to their operation, delivering both productivity and peace of mind.
Troy has a nice set up at ArrowHill Farm. I bought 2 doelings and a mature buck from them…all are doing great! I’m new to Kiko’s so had a lot of questions. Troy took the time…4 1/2 hours actually…to teach and explain in great detail. I learned so much it really has helped me get off on the right track at my own operation. ArrowHill Farm gets a big thumb’s up in my book!
hey now
Hi Richard! Any particular reason you would rate us 4 stars? I don’t believe we’ve even met and I don’t believe you’ve ever been to our small operation farm. Big stores can handle small ratings but small business and local farms take their ratings serious, as it can have a big impact. We certainly would love to know why we aren’t worth 5 stars in your opinion.
