We recently stayed at Mockingbird Hill Farm at the field house (booked through Airbnb). The house is a screened in shelter with beds, chairs, and an outdoor seating area nestled up by a chimney from one of the original homes to the farm. We loved seeing and hearing the wildlife (deer, lizards, turkeys, raccoons) and waking up to a beautiful sunset and a view of the pasture. It was so peaceful, a great reset! There is a community building on the grounds with a kitchen and bathroom so you aren't entirely roughing it. There is a lovely barn that's an amazing gathering spot, or just a place to relax and rock the time away. There are a few places to stay on the farm, the field house, hammock house, a bus and a regular (air conditioned) room above the kitchen. There is enough space to hike and explore, and the farm animals are all very sweet (goats, donkey, chicken, farm dog). Not only did we enjoy our stay, our dog had a blast!
Great experience to be on a real farm with real animals and gardening. It is definitely not a tourist experience. Martha is very welcoming. You'll enjoy yourself.
